Issue Rationale for renewals as required per FS 287, DOE 6A-1.01 and School Board Policy

 

a.  Electrical Components – Part Two Individual Unit Pricing for Ballast & Fixtures Bid #08-MA-290.  Contract Period is March 23, 2009 through March 18, 2010.  First renewal.

 

b. Relocation of Portable Classrooms and Sheds County Wide Bid #07-F-194.  Contract Period is April 17, 2009 through April 15, 2010.  Third renewal. 

 

c.  Plumbing Construction, Repair and Connection for Existing and/or New Construction and Relocatable Classroom County-Wide #08-F-200.  Contract Period is March 23, 2009 through March 18, 2010.  Second renewal.

 

d.  Tree Trimming and Removal County-Wide Bid #08-F-200.  Remove Vendor. 



Recommended Action

Extend renewals as follows:

 

a.  Electrical Components – Part Two Individual Unit Pricing for Ballast & Fixtures Bid #08-MA-290 – To:

·         Graybar Electric Company, Inc.

·         Rexel Consolidated

·         Remove World Electric Supply, Inc. - The previous Second/Third low bidder awarded March 20, 2008 for Fixtures 4T8 wrap-around & 4T8 2x4 lay-in has requested not to renew.

Lowest bidder of unit price is giving first consideration during contract period.  When the lowest bidder is unable to deliver item, the next low bidders, based on unit pricing, shall be contacted.

·         W.W. Gay Mechanical Contractor, Inc., 

·         Hoffmann Plumbing 

·         Wright Plumbing Inc.

·         Remove W.H. Hearn Mechanical or Tallahassee, Inc. - The previous fourth low bidder awarded March 20, 2008 has not sent in renewal letter and let their Contractor Pre Qualification expire.

Projects under $7999.99; lowest bidder is giving first consideration during contract period.  When the lowest bidder is unable to deliver items, the next low bidders, based on the order of award below, shall be contacted.

Projects over $7999.99; A Request for Sealed Quote shall be solicited from the following vendors:

·         Remove East Coast Tree and Land Company - The previous second low bidder awarded September 18, 2008 has let their required Insurance expire.
